We ask that you send through certain documents to confirm your identity, professional status and accreditation before placing you in a booking and put great store in locums who are organized enough to send these documents back in good time!

Questions and Answers

Will you be able to find me work every day?

We’ll try to! We work with all the major pharmacy retailers, independents, the NHS, HM Prison service and other agencies and receive hundreds of requests for locum cover every week right across the UK, so there’s a good chance we can get you work every day. However there are factors which will affect our ability to find you work.

• The distance you are willing to travel from home
• MUR Accreditation – a large number of companies will only engage locums who are accredited
• Geographical location – some area have more need for locum cover than others
• The rates you charge
• The time of year – more locums are needed in peak holiday season than the middle of winter

How much can I charge?

As a locum you are your own business therefore in theory you can charge what you want. However market forces will dictate what the pharmacy operators are willing to pay. Please call the PL-UK team on 0800 8818844 for guidance.

Do I just have to work through PL-UK?

Some agencies will tell you that you have to always work for them after they have found you work…it’s rubbish. You can work with who you like, when you like. We’re confident that you will like PL-UK best!
