Make 2011 the year of the pharmacist.

My hope for 2011 is that it will become remembered as the year our profession started focusing on the individual pharmacist again. Too much time in recent years has been spent focusing on pharmacies, (Control of entry regulations) and the profession of pharmacy ( split of the representative and regulatory function of RPSGB)

During this time we have lost focus on the pharmacists who are working their fingers to the bone dispensing ever increasing numbers of prescriptions without the corresponding increase in reward, either professionally or financially.

So Royal Pharmaceutical Society , make 2011 the year you make a difference for the individual  pharmacists who pay their membership fees  in the hope that they receive representation to make their working lives more rewarding, or you may find that the number of renewals come March 1st will come as a bit of a shock!

Pharmacy Voice

NPA, CCA and IMP come together as Pharmnacy Voice.
Now we need the RPS and PDA to come together as Pharmacist Voice or even better British Pharmacist Association and/or Royal College of Pharmacy

Don’t forget to vote

Don’t forget to vote

I have just cast my vote online for the English Pharmacy Board Elections. I have voted for those pharmacists who I believe will represent the interests of individual pharmacist and not those of ‘Big Pharma’ – let’s take the Society back for the individual pharmacist!!!

After all, the multiples have the CCA and pharmacy owners large and small have the NPA and PSNC.

Vive le pharmacist!

Where are the “real” pharmacists in the C+D senate

I read a post on Twitter today about a C+D senate – a new “think tank” looking at the future of community pharmacy. Unfortunately, like most similar initiative it’s clearly focused on pharmacy – the business not pharmacy the profession.

The busineses already have the CCA, the NPA have taken over the RPSGB. Where are the forums representing individual pharmacists? Come on PDA!
